In an attempt to highlight the shortcomings of the pop industry and theĀ “stupid” lyrics of Ke$ha’s pop hit ‘Tik Tok’, British trio Midnight Beast have released their own version of the song and it’s rising up the YouTube charts. Ke$ha has given the parody her stamp of approval tweeting (@keshasuxx): “holy. shit. this is better than my version)”. Some US record labels are also rumoured to be interested in releasing the track.
According to the bands MySpace: ‘The Midnight Beast version of “Tik Tok” espouses a liv- fast, die-young lifestyle of eating your dessert first, trying to catch glimpses of naked girls and avoiding the wrath of your parents. It’s all rendered with some amusing choreography and some rhyming in the style of The Streets.’
Clearly poor spelling is part of their charm!
